Why I'm the candidate for Johnson County

I was born and raised in Overland Park, Kansas. I graduated from Shawnee Mission public schools before going to the University of Kansas and then the University of Miami School of Law. After graduating from law school, I moved back to Johnson County and began my career.

Over the last three years, I've served as a Senior Assistant District Attorney in the Douglas County District Attorney's Office. I lead the Drug Unit and specialize in prosecuting fentanyl-related cases. During my tenure, I have prosecuted more fentanyl death cases than anyone else in Kansas, positioning me at the forefront of this emerging area of law. I take pride in being a trailblazer in this critical field. Beyond my courtroom responsibilities, I have recruited, hired, and supervised a team of interns and led a team of attorneys. Recently, I was promoted to Deputy District Attorney. In this capacity, I manage the entire office while continuing to prosecute a full caseload, including homicides, sexual assaults, and drug distribution cases.

I teach trial advocacy skills for the National District Attorney's Association and presented on prosecuting fentanyl overdose cases to the Kansas County and District Attorney's Association.

Prior to working in Douglas County, I worked in Johnson County where I specialized in DUI crash cases. For three years prior to working in Johnson County, I worked in Wyandotte County where I specialized in prosecuting gang cases. I successfully prosecuted members of the Traviesos, La Familia, Sureno Por Vida, DimeBlock, Southdale Bloods, MOB, and 8th Street Money gangs.

I am the ideal candidate for Johnson County. With extensive experience prosecuting a wide range of crimes, from murder to DUI and everything in between, I bring a comprehensive understanding of prosecuting crime. I have also dedicated significant efforts to training young attorneys in prosecution and trial advocacy, ensuring the next generation is well-prepared.

Most importantly, I have innovative ideas for proactively combating crime, rather than merely reacting to it. As Johnson County continues to grow and evolve, so too do its criminal justice challenges. We need a District Attorney who can adeptly navigate and adapt to these changes, and I am prepared to meet this demand.
