Mud-slinging is what happens when my opponent is losing on the issues.

Name calling is what opponents do

On Monday, prior to the noon deadline, I made a social media post informing my friends and family that if they wanted to vote for me, the deadline to change their voter registration was 12 PM. My opponent, Steve Howe, ran to Facebook to call me a "RINO" and he suggested that I have some sort of "stealth agenda." He can't tell you what that stealth agenda is. My agenda has been exceptionally clear since the day I filed for District Attorney. I am going to fight more aggressively to combat the fentanyl epidemic and work to increase communication between the different law enforcement agencies in Johnson County and the DA's office, and the Johnson County DA's office and the surrounding prosecutor's offices.

Rather than focusing on the issues, my opponent has chosen to make personal attacks and call names. His record speaks volumes. Over 200 fentanyl deaths under his watch and only 8 prosecutions. Selling out law enforcement officers for cheap plea deals. Lying to the county commission about the reasons for the mass exodus from his office over the last four years and the average experience level of his prosecutors.

Name calling is what my opponent does because he's not winning on the issues. Steve wants to distract from his declining performance year over year. Don't be fooled by the name calling and the smoke and mirror tactics. Don't let his weak attempts at negative campaigning work. Look at his record and ask yourself if it is good enough for Johnson County. My record as a prosecutor is clear. I charge hard cases. I'm not afraid to go to trial. I fight to protect my law enforcement partners. I have the knowledge and experience to make Johnson County safer for you and your family.
